MEEMU ATOLL RESORTS COLLECTION
Meemu Atoll, also known as Mulaku Atholhu is one of the 19 administrative divisions of Maldives, with the Dhivehi Letter Code: M. The administrative atoll corresponds to the Geographic Atoll with the similar name ‘Mulaku Atoll.’ Located 150 miles south of Male’ City, Meemu Atoll is made up of 33 islands out of which 9 are inhabited by local citizens with the Capital Island being Muli. Recently being open to the Tourism Industry, there are only two tourist resorts currently operating in Meemu: Medhufushi Island Resort, and Chaaya Lagoon Hakuraa Huraa.
Meemu Atoll is known to be a famous dive site where an abundance of manta rays can be encountered. The Mulaku Kandu (channel) is the most popular spot soft coral covered submerged pinnacles are found, as well as rays, sharks, snappers, jacks, eels and groupers. Medhufushi Thila is another well-known dive site where vibrant corals can see been as well as reef fish. There are several more dive spots in Meemu Atoll which can be accessed on a liveaboard or by visiting one of the two tourist resorts.
